Nurturing Our Humanity—Digging Up the Deep Roots of Patriarchy and Domination

December 3, 2020

CPS Partner organization SARAH4Hope’s Sande Hart shared their latest newsletter with us—featuring the 2019 book by Riane Eisler and Douglas P. Fry Nurturing Our Humanity: How Domination and Partnership Shape Our Brains, Lives and Future. Thank you Sande!

In “Like the Thrashing Tail of The Dying Dinosaur are the Death Throes of Patriarchy”, S.A.R.A.H. writes, “Nurturing Our Humanity dissects, then tugs at the deep root system of patriarchy and domination, veiled behind assumptions that create an unjust society. We have been sleep walking through a society where violence against women and environmental degradation are generally thought of as “the way it has always been,” and we will always be fighting its demons. This book shows us that it has not always been this way, and there is an alternative if we just consider our human nature, power of choice, and the willingness to accept our role in a humanity that could and should work for everyone”.
