Gender Equity & Reconciliation International (GERI) Summit
"Join us for this conference and meet inspiring leaders and organizations across the globe who are working to make the dream of gender equality a reality.
Over the past 30 years, in hundreds of GERI programs on six continents, tens of thousands of people have ardently envisioned and aspired toward a Gender Healed World.
This sustained visionary invocation in the hearts of people across the globe now calls for millions more to join in.
In the coming 30 years, it is time for this vision to become the new global reality—to actually create the Gender Healed World that we all yearn for.
Please join us for this conference, and become part of the community of amazing people around the world who are working together to achieve this goal.
Global gender harmony is not a fanciful vision; it is a longstanding dream that, together, we are making real.
Our confirmed presenters include Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela, who was one of Desmond Tutu’s closest collaborators in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission hearings. Pumla is a world renowned leader on reconciliation and forgiveness of intergenerational trauma, and she is also a strong advocate of GERI, for which she launched the first academic research project on the GERI work. Pumla was recently invited into an extensive one-on-one dialogue with the Dalai Lama about trauma, compassion, and forgiveness.
Other confirmed presenters include Jean Kilbourne, and Jackson Katz; who are both key leaders in the women’s and men’s movements. A few other confirmed speakers include Sr. Lucy Kurien, Imam Jamal Rahman, Karambu Ringera, Ken Kitatani, Nina Simons, Saphira Rameshfar, Mark Greene, and the Rev. Ray Hammond. We are also putting special effort into inviting young adults to join us for the in person gathering to include their voices and wisdom in the in-depth conversation and visioning.
Several of our GERI community leaders will be with us as well, in particular the co-authors of our new book, which will be released during the conference on October 5th, and we will have a celebratory book launch!
The in-person gathering is an invitational (not open to the public) of presenters and like-minded colleagues, committed activists, engaged religious leaders, philanthropists, and friends—all of whom are committed to transforming gender injustice. In our afternoon and evening sessions, we will gather to brain-storm and “heart”-storm together how humanity can heal and transcend our gender past, and re-invent our collective gender future."
