In the new article Sex, Love, and Relationships: Nurturing Our Humanity, author, founder of MenAlive and international health advisor Jed Diamond explores domination-partnership social systems and how Eisler’s new book, Nurturing Our Humanity: How Domination and Partnership Shape Our Brains, Lives, and Future, presents a new biocultural lens that helps bring women, men and families together to reshape gender roles for a more peaceful and sustainable world. The post contrasts the partnership and domination systems and demonstrates that “one of the primary causes of the conflict [between men and women] has been the impact of a dominator system on our understanding of males and females”. It also features examples of domination and partnership language.
“[Nurturing Our Humanity] gives us a rich, and deeply satisfying, gift of insights and understanding that can benefit everyone who cares about having more peaceful and productive relationships in our homes, our communities, our countries, and on the fragile planet we all share”.
Diamond’s new book, 12 Rules for Good Men, is coming out on November. “[The book] is based on the new findings from evolutionary science demonstrating four important truths:
- First, there was an earlier time in human history where males and females enjoyed greater equality.
- Second, what we call ?civilization? has improved our lives in some way but caused unrecognized harm to males, females, and the fragile planet we all share.
- Third, the cause of these problems is our adherence to a dominator system of relationships.
- Fourth, there are critical, biologically based, differences between males and females that need to be understood and respected if we are to end the battle of the sexes and co-create, in the words of Charles Eisenstein, ?the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.?
