Listen to the interview with Riane Eisler on Radio Free America: KOPN radio, Columbia, MS. In this 55-minute podcast with Chautauqua?s Deb Hobson, Eisler talks about her new book, Nurturing Our Humanity: How Domination and Partnership Shape Our Brains, Lives, and Future, co-authored by Douglas P. Fry.
Eisler has dedicated her life?s work to developing the interdisciplinary field of partnership studies, which recognizes that an underlying paradigm of domination or partnership cultural systems permeates societies worldwide. Eisler: ?We need to go beyond both capitalism and socialism and move toward a partnership system?one where relations are based on mutual respect, accountability, and caring?. Nurturing Our Humanity reveals relationships between climate change denial and strong-man rule, fear-and-force based discipline of children and warfare, subordination of women and racism (and other forms of discrimination). And with the causes revealed in these relationships and others, more creative solutions are possible.
